## Request the permanent residence document##

To obtain a document certifying the right of permanent residence, you must prove that you have lived legally in the country for the past five years.

The documents to be presented for this purpose vary depending on your situation (employee, self-employed person, job seeker, retired person, student), and may include:

a valid registration certificate, issued upon arrival in the country
evidence that you have lived in the country (for example, expense invoices and lease agreements)
proof that you are employed, studying, self-employed or job-seeking (for example, salary forms, bank statements, tax returns)
The authorities must issue the permanent residence document as soon as possible and cannot charge fees higher than those charged to nationals for the identification card. If this is not the case, you can contact our support services.

The document is automatically renewable without any conditions or requirements. However, its validity may differ depending on the country of issue.
