This video accounts the reunion and encounter with my biological father, Dr Oswald Stanley Perera, who is of Portuguese descent and currently resides in Sri Lanka and whom I last saw in the province of Pangasinan in the Philippines in 1995.

This meeting happened in August 2015, after 20 years (1995-2015) of no communication.

Travelling nearly 2000 miles from the Sultanate of Oman where I am currently based to Negombo, Sri Lanka didn’t hinder me to once again rub elbows with my “long lost father.”

Meeting him with my wife and only child then rolled back all the wonderful memories we had as a family back in the Philippines. Reminiscing all the things we’ve done and shared as a family brought tears to my eyes upon listening to my father’s wise sayings and pieces of advice.

This 77-year old man, still has the sharpest of memory who is still strong and manages to do things by himself in his nearly 2-century old ancestral home with a big garden of fruit-bearing trees, crops, and vegetables which he is able to maintain and beautify on a regular basis.

This video is first of various parts. It features the different places we went in Sri Lanka as a family with my father as our tour guide. Sri Lanka is a country endowed with natural beauty of all kinds – natural gardens, zoological parks, vast beaches, and a combination of traditional and modern lifestyle and practices.

Please come and join me as I introduce you to my biological father and as we explore together, The Heart of the Indian Ocean – Sri Lanka!
