Kochi is a major port in South India. It was first seized by the Portuguese and then by the Dutch. The English conquered it in 1795. Ernakulam got its importance because of the Kochi ruler’s palace was in Ernakulam. The Indian Navy has a substantive presence in Kochi harbor.
Malampuzha is a large dam across River Bharathpusha in Kerala. There is park and many interesting entertainment facilities for tourists in this park including boating and cable-car. Malampuzha is located near Palakkad town.
