Sintra Portugal is just WOW!
It was just a short train ride from Lisbon for a beautiful day trip to Sintra where we hiked to the Castelo dos Mouros for the most breathtaking views on a gorgeous, sunny day. It cost us about $24 for entry to the castle grounds for two and it was worth every penny.
We are trying to stick to a strict budget of $150/ day, including our hotel stay so that was the one major tourist spot we chose. Each one has a price so if you are on a budget like us, do some research and pick what's best for you.
Here is a list of 7 things to see in Sintra. This is a not everything, but what we would see if we go again.
1) Castelo dos Mouros (our favorite)
2) Countless pastry and coffee shops around the city
3) the Moorish Fountain
4) Pena Palace
5) Sintra National Palace (the oldest palace in Portugal)
6) Quinta da Regaleira (the super Gothic one we almost saw)
7)Pena Park and the High Cross
