PT//Escaroupim é uma típica aldeia piscatória, formada em meados dos anos 30 por pescadores oriundos da Praia da Vieira (Marinha Grande). As habitações são feitas em madeira, pintadas de cores vivas e assentes em estacaria, de modo a estarem protegidas das frequentes cheias do rio. A peculiaridade das suas casas é extensiva aos seus barcos de pesca, também em madeira e pintados de cores vivas.

EN// Escaroupim is a typical fishing village, formed in the mid-1930s by fishermen from Praia da Vieira (Marinha Grande). The dwellings are made of wood, painted in bright colors and laid on piles, in order to be protected from the frequent floods of the river. The peculiarity of its houses extends to its fishing boats, also made of wood and painted in bright colors.
