Today we’re going to Antique Mardol in Verna, to taste their Goan Portuguese thalis.

Antique Mardol is in the lower ground level of Hotel Mardol, located between the Birla Cross signal for Dabolim airport and Verna Titan Gate signal on the main Panjim-Margao highway.

Maria is having the Goan Portuguese mutton thali and Lesley is having the Goan Portuguese seafood thali.

Maria’s Portuguese mutton thali has mutton chilli fry, mutton xacuti, sweet dish, salad, sol kari, mutton balchao, mutton cafreal, rice, banana and poee

Lesley's Portuguese seafood thali has kingfish cafreal, prawn balchao, squid masala, sweet dish, salad, sol kari, teesrio masala, kismur, crab masala, prawn curry, power, kingfish fry, rice and banana.

Mutton xacuti gets a thumbs up. Mutton cafreal gets a very, very good. Mutton balchao has too much of vinegar. Mutton chilli fry was also yum.

The Portuguese seafood thali has 5 different types of fish and seafood. Absolutely full marks to the prawn curry. The kismur was very nice. Prawn balchao was very good. Squid masala was just okay. Cafreal masala in the kingfish cafreal was good. Teesrio was different in taste and fantastic. The kingfish fry was superb. Sol kari was also good.

So all in all great thalis at Antique Mardol
