Last year I walked the Camino Portuguese with Follow the Camino and completely fell in love with it — not just with the walking, but with Galicia, the atmosphere, the sense of achievement at the end of each day, and of course the wine.
So now I’m going back.
In October 2026, I’ll be co-hosting a completely unique wine-focused Camino along the Espiritual Variant from Vigo to Santiago. This is still very much a real Camino, but with a boutique touch: characterful hotels specially chosen for the trip, beautiful Galician scenery, local food, and a genuine focus on the wines of Galicia.
We’ll begin in Vigo and walk through countryside, historic towns and vineyard landscapes before finishing in Santiago de Compostela. Along the way there’ll be time in Galicia’s wine country, a Rías Baixas wine masterclass with paired snacks, a wine pairing on the boat section of the route, and a special farewell dinner in Santiago with local wines.
I’ll also be your wine host for some of the key wine experiences, which makes this trip especially exciting for me.
If you’d love to experience the Camino in a way that combines walking, wine, and the best of Galicia, I would absolutely love you to join me.
