Spain, Portugal & France March - April 2018
1. Andalusia (Spain) - Tarifa, Gibraltar (UK), Cadiz (00:12)
Exploring Southern Spain from my ferry ride across the straight of Gibraltar from Morocco to the Southern most tip of Europe, las palomas in Tarifa. A journey to Gibraltar including the Rock of Gibraltar with it's population of Barbary Macaques and one of the most unique airstrips in the world! Then a journey to Cadiz, a city of classical architecture and great sunsets.
2. Semana Santa (Seville, Spain) (03:45)
The religious festival of Holy Week leading up to Easter, celebrated in a unique way in Sevilla, the capital of Andalusia. Learn about this religious festival and the city itself.
3. Lagos (Portugal) (10:25)
A journey to one of Europes most amazing coastlines. Join me on a kayaking adventure through caves and rock formations on the jagged high cliffed Algarve Coast.
4. Lisbon - Porto (Portugal) & Northern Spain (13:33)
The Capital and largest city of Portugal, Lisbon is a great place to explore old architecture and it's Moorish Castle. Porto has become one of my favourite cities in Europe, I explore it's old world architecture and learn about the history of the drink synonymous with it's name, Port. All the while listening to it's Portugal's Folk music known as Fado. Followed by a short journey to the North of Spain, including Santiago de Compostela, home to the famous "El Camino de Santiago" (the way of St James), Leon with it's impressive 13th Century Gothic Cathedral, Bilbao famous for it's unique style of tapas known as Pinxtos and the Guggenheim Art Museum, then onto San Sebastian to explore the beautiful Basque Coastline.
5. France - Bordeaux, Loire Valley (Cycling), Paris & Strasbourg (19:28)
The second largest city in France and one of it's major wine capitals Bordeaux boasts more than just wine and people. Amazing architecture and art are to be discovered in this highly underrated destination. A massive highlight of my entire trip Cycling 3 days in central France's beautiful Loire Valley from Tours to Saumur, visiting Chateau's and old towns with their manicured gardens in full spring bloom. No trip to France is complete without a stop in Paris, full of History, Romance and hidden treasures. We visit the Eiffel Tower, The Louvre Museum, The Moulin Rouge, an underground Jazz Club featured in the Film La La Land, the Palace of Versailles & the Catacombs. We finished our trip to France with a journey to one of the most picturesque towns on the border of journey Strasbourg, aside from exploring this magnificent town with it's towering Cathedral (was once the highest building in the world for 227 years) we undertook a cycling trip over the Rhine river into Germany along the Rhine Valley.
