Thinking about the days we were footloose and fancy free, booking our hols and jumping on the next plane to hit a destination on our bucket list. Well, that was me and my friends @kanta_mirchandani and @shami.dmello last November 2019, when we went on a 9-day #allgirlsroadtrip to Portugal. Here are our top 10 reasons why Portugal stole our hearts:

1. Watching the sun set ☀️ into the horizon with the famous Lighthouse of Cabo de São Vicente in the distance from the southern-most point of Algarve.
2. Eating cinnamon-dusted warm Pastel de Natas ???? at Pasteis de Belem, home of the world-famous custard cream tarts.
3. Port wine tour and tasting????, cheese boards and estate-milled olive oils for purchase at Duoro Valley.
4. Eating the traditional and freshly baked Bolo de coco bread with garlic butter ????at Madeira Islands.
5. Cherry liquor (Ginja) ???? shots in dark or white chocolate ‘shot cups’ at the Time Out Market in Lisbon.
6. Listening to the street jazz musicians ???? while on a cultural walking tour through the old town of Lisbon.
7. The old-world journey back in time experience while walking on the cobbled streets????‍♀️of the walled settlements of Obidos town, a pit stop from Lisbon to Porto.
8. Flashes of romantic sun kissed skies ???? during the golden sunset hour over the Luis 1 Bridge at Porto.
9. Eating our glory fill of fresh seafood especially sardines, shellfish and mussels.
10. Marvel at creation as we see the heavenly sunrise at Ponta de São Lourenço sunrise point ????, Madeira Islands.

Would we go back? For those 10 reasons and more, yes! Making a silent wish now we all resume back to a new and responsible world some time soon #cantwaittotravelagain ❤????✈
