After almost 3 month in Ribeira Brava and exploring the island on our own, it was finally time to move on and try something new.

We discovered "Quinta dos Artistas", a beautiful place up in the hills near Santa Cruz which has been created by an Austrian family that lives already more than 20 years here on Madeira.

We meet Christa and her family, which know the island and its endless hiking areas like their backyard, which gives us the opportunity to discover areas of the island that we wouldn't have found by ourselves.

After some short intro we attend our first guided group hike into the area around Machico which was probably the longest we've walked here on the island in one go and all that partly while it was proper raining.
