Lisbon is one of Europe's warmest capital cities, meaning it's absolutely perfect for a city break at any time of the year ????

There's so much to do in Lisbon - relax on the banks of the Tagus River, ramble along the wide avenues or soak up the atmosphere in one of the many squares. It's the ideal location for a city break.

We visited in January and the weather was quite pleasant. We took the hop on hop off City Sightseeing tour which gave us a great opportunity to see as much of the city as we could.

We visited the Belém Tower, Jerónimos Monastery and The Monument to the Discoveries in the Belém district along the banks of the Tagus. It's incredible to remember the great voyages of discovery that were launched from Portugal.

We climbed one of the many hills to visit Lisbon Cathedral and São Jorge Castle with its old cobbled streets. We relaxed with a coffee in Alfama and watched the famous yellow trams pass by.

The food is Lisbon is AMAZING so if that's your thing, you'll love it! You've got to try a Pastel de Nata, a Portuguese custard tart that makes me hungry thinking about it!

Overall, I would totally recommend Lisbon. It's a city with lots of atmosphere and with the weather being so pleasant, it's a pleasure to walk around.
