Belem is one of the favourite districts of Lisbon, Portugal. The highlights are Jeronimos monastery; here you can see the tomb of the Portuguese Explorer, Vasco da Gama; Lisbon's most famous and photographed monument "The Tower of Belem". Beautiful monument to the 15th Century Portuguese Explorers and Military museum.

The Church of St. Anthony was constructed at the Saints birth place adjacent to the oldest Cathedral of Lisbon. So in Portugal the Saint has been recognised as St Antonio of Lisboa whereas in other parts of the world it is St. Anthony of Padua, as the saint spent more years and died in Padua, Italy. I came to know this fact when I visited this church.

We also visited the Carmel Convent in Coimbra where St Lucia lived and died.
