Hello!

If you follow my channel you may know that I am doing a monthly Tips & Tricks about World Heritage Sites and Intangible Culture of Portugal... and this week I have been working on a video about the Portuguese Guitar with Hugo Gamboias... so today I decided to speak about FADO!

And yes, I am the one on the thumbnail picture. That was taken back in 2011 at Fado ao Centro Cultural Association in Coimbra, by an American Photographer called Dominic Arizona Bonuccelli. At the time he was working with a Rick Steves group, photographing Portugal, and he asked me to pose for him... so this was the result! I obviously asked him to keep that picture and publish it on my social media. I cherish it dearly as I am a singer and absolutely love music. At the time I was doing an internship at Fado ao Centro Association, a place that got me where I am today as a professional and in which I met (and still meet) incredible people all the time!

In this video you will learn about the History of Fado in Portugal, the famous singers and players (that we call Fadistas), some of the most important Casas de Fado of Lisbon (places where you can have a meal and witness a live Fado Show) and the differences between Fado of Lisbon and Fado of Coimbra (also known as Canção de Coimbra)!

I also promised to leave some links related with the places where you can listen to Fado of Lisbon while in Portugal, so here it goes (no sponsors here, I am mentioning places I know as a local, travel consultant and tour guide).
