Castelo dos Mouros aka
the Moorish Castle in Sintra, Portugal is where we are headed today.
....As a budget traveler,
We will 1st enjoy our complimentary breakfast at Casa Azul and walk/ hike up to the castle.
We also plan to tour as much of the castle and area that we can for FREE.
Moorish Castle is way way up on top of a Mountain...okay a Huge Hill. It was built in the 8th and 9th centuries by the Moors; Makes sense.
We 1st need to walk up to old Sintra and then make our way up the Hillside from there.
I was blown away at all the amazing places and views we were able to see for absolutely nothing! Exploring the Castle walls and property, we learned so much. Everything has signage posted to explain what you are seeing and the history behind it...again for Free.
I thoroughly enjoyed everything about today.....Visit Sintra and Castelo dos Mouros on your trip to Portugal. If we had more time, I think we would have relaxed in Sintra for a few more days.

Sintra is a quick and easy train ride from Lisbon, usually a daytrip but definitely worth a longer visit.

I hope you enjoyed todays video....a bit long(sorry) but just so much to see.
